Time confirmed for Lyndhurst High Street closure
THE time has been confirmed for tonight's (Thursday's) closure of Lyndhurst High Street so concrete beams can be delivered to Holmsley Bridge.
Five loads weighing up to 70 tonnes each will travel the wrong way up the village's one-way system, which will be closed to all other traffic from 8.15pm for about 15 minutes, Hampshire County Council has confirmed.
The beams will form the deck of the replacement bridge at Holmsley, work on which has closed part of the A35 until 8th April.
Traffic will be stopped between the Willow Tree Café and the Forestry Commission offices and motorists will be prevented from accessing via adjoining junctions.
The convoy will travel along the M27 and A326, then turn onto the A35 Southampton Road (against the one-way system) before continuing onto the A35 south to site.
