Totton man’s costly penalty at Southampton Magistrates’ court for hurling racist abuse

HURLING racist abuse cost a Totton man nearly £800 when he appeared before magistrates.
Benjamin Moody (31), of Harwood Close, pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in Southampton on 3rd June.
Ruling the offence was racially aggravated, the city Bench fined Moody £499.05 and told him to pay another £284.62 in court charges.
