Residents asked to vote on Totton railway station mural designed by college students

VOTES are being invited on a preferred design for a mural at Totton railway station put together by Totton College students.

The nine meter by one metre artwork has been commissioned by South Western Railway, with Totton and Eling Council organising the competition alongside the college.

Designs by art students at the college have now been narrowed down to four submissions. The brief was to use iconic imagery of the local area to welcome visitors to the town.

There will also be smaller pieces of artwork from other Totton College students placed around the station in the form of signs and notices.

Work experience co-ordinator and job coach at the college, Pamela Broad, said: "This is an incredibly exciting time for students at Totton College, providing them with the opportunity to contribute a long-lasting piece of art that will be seen by locals and visitors alike."

Votes must be in by Sunday. Visit https://forms.gle/Y7irowLjfeZYj2NF7
