Ringwood hosts free family fun day at Carvers Recreation Ground to kick off the summer holidays

A free family fun day featuring bouncy castles, mini steam engine rides and animal encounters will take place at Ringwood’s Carvers Recreation Ground to mark the beginning of the summer holidays.

Organised by the town council with funding from New Forest District Council and the Levelling Up Fund, the Family Fun Festival will take place on Wednesday 24th July from 11am to 3pm.

It will feature a wide range of activities and attractions, including bouncy castles operated by the team from Poulner Baptist Church, circus skills workshops with Steamship Circus, and skate and scooter lessons with Team Rubicon.

Families can also enjoy a Mad4Animals Animal Show and the Squidge and Pop Bubble Show, as well as taking part in meet and greet sessions with crews from Ringwood’s police and fire services.

Other highlights include a climbing cave and a chance to get a ride on Chuffley the Miniature Steam Engine. Youngsters can join RACE (Ringwood Actions for Climate Emergency) to learn how to make bird boxes and other art work to take home, and chat to the team from Hampshire Healthy Families.

Most activities are free but some will have a small charge.
