Living advent calendar in Christchurch will open its first window on Friday in Saxon Square
A LIVING advent calendar in Christchurch which promises to be “bigger and better than ever” will have its first window opened today (Friday).
The town mayor will be attending the event, which takes place in Saxon Square at 6pm.
Who, or what, will be in the window is being kept secret by the organisers of the calendar, which is raising money for local charities.
Supported by more than 120 local businesses and organisations, the festive feature will open a new window every day at 6pm. Inside will be a local talent who will perform for just under an hour.
Last year £21,000 was raised for local charities.
There will be performances at North Porch of Priory church on Saturday 2nd December, the Boathouse on Sunday 3rd and the Chicken and Blues restaurant on Monday.
On Tuesday it will be the turn of Christchurch library to host, and the following day the Regent Centre.
The Thomas Tripp will throw the party on Thursday, and Friday will see a show at Saxon Square.
