Tributes to doctor Guy Powell who died in Marchwood accident




A PEDESTRIAN who died in a crash on the A326 near Marchwood has been named as a doctor described by his family as a “dedicated and loving” husband and father.

Dr Guy Powell, from Salisbury, was in collision with two cars shortly before 7pm on 6th March and died at the scene.

His family have issued a statement through police in which they said: "Guy was a dedicated and loving husband and father.

"He had an unwavering commitment to helping patients with their mental health issues."

Dr Powell’s family are being supported by specialist officers.

A Volkswagen Transporter and a Suzuki Swift were involved in the accident which police are still investigating.

They are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to come forward, or anyone who saw “someone waiting to cross the road” around the time of the incident.

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who was passing near the location between 6.45pm and 6.55pm who had a dashcam fitted to their vehicle.
