TV star Chris Packham will be taking part in ‘The Great British Dog Walk’ in Bucklers Hard to raise money for charity Hearing Dogs

NEW Forest environmentalist and TV star Chris Packham will be leading a group of animal lovers on a weekend section of the The Great British Dog Walk in Buckler’s Hard.

The walk on 13th April is in aid of charity Hearing Dogs which provides assistance animals to deaf people.

The event consists of a shorter family friendly walk (4km) and a longer scenic walk (7.5km), making it ideal for dog owners, families, single walkers, organised walking groups or those who simply want to meet lots of dogs and get a bit of exercise for a good cause.

The walk at Buckler’s Hard will also feature a fun dog show and tombola. Those taking part in the event will be able to use a 20% discount at the Buckler’s Hard museum.

A free dog bandana is also included with every adult ticket.

Hearing Dogs trains pets to alert deaf children and adults to important and life-saving sounds.

It costs around £40,000 to fully train and support an assistance pet for the duration of its life.

The charity receives no central government funding so every walker will be helping to transform the lives of deaf people.

Adult tickets are £12 online, £15 on the day, and children under 16 go free.

Further information and tickets are available at www.greatbritishdogwalk.org.
