A FOG warning has been issued covering the New Forest and Christchurch for today (Monday) and tomorrow.

The yellow alert, put out by the Met Office, warns of freezing fog, leaving visibility in some places at less than 100 metres, causing “difficult driving conditions” and disruption to transport.

Icy stretches were also possible, the national weather organisation predicted.

The warning is in place for today until 11am tomorrow morning, and affects both Hampshire and Dorset.

The Met Offices said slower journey times, with delays to bus and train services, were possible, along with delays or cancellations to flights. It advised to avoid unnecessary travel.
