Two escape injury after car crash blaze in New Forest

TWO drivers escaped serious injury after their vehicles collided in the New Forest, with one bursting into flames.

Paramedics assessed and treated a female casualty at the scene for minor injuries, but neither needed to be taken to hospital.

The road was closed for a short time by police while local firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, spent about 40 minutes battling the blaze.

A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the affected vehicle was about 80% damaged as a result.
