Two men appear in court over Easter weekend stabbings

TWO men have appeared in court accused of three stabbings during an incident at a house in Christchurch over the Easter weekend.

Police were called to the address in Everest Road, Somerford, on Saturday at around 9.20pm where they found three men, all in their 20s, who appeared to have been slashed with a knife.

They were taken to hospital but their wounds were said to be not life-threatening.

The house was sealed off while police and forensics teams carried out a detailed search of the property.

David Colton (30), of Caxton Close, Christchurch, was later charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.

Andrew Hiscock (32), of Hunt Road, Christchurch, was charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife.

They both appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday) and were remanded in custody to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court in May.

DC Ben Swain, of Bournemouth CID, said: “An investigation is underway into the circumstances of this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the Everest Road area at the relevant time or saw or heard anything suspicious to please contact Dorset Police.

“Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team will be continuing their patrols in the area and can be approached with any community concerns.”

In a separate incident, also on Easter Saturday, a man in his 40s was treated for minor stab wounds in hospital following an alleged attack at 11.05am at a house in Dorset Road, Somerford.

He was released after being treated.
