Unbeaten Brockenhurst U16s secure third title in three years
Bournemouth Youth Football League Div 1 U16s: Brockenhurst FC 2-1 West Moors
BROCKENHURST FC U16s have won the Bournemouth Youth Football League, Division 1 in emphatic fashion after winning all of their league games this season.
The last game of the season lived up to expectations as West Moors visited Brockenhurst on the last day of the league campaign that saw a very tight affair with the scores in a deadlock at half time.
Deadlock broken
However, Brockenhurst started quickly in the second half, and it wasn't long before the deadlock was broken. James Nugus intercepted the ball on the halfway line, drove down the right and found a perfect pass to Samuel Shearer.
With work to do Shearer danced through the West Moors defence beating two players and slotted in left-footed to make it 1-0. Brock then pushed for the second and played some outstanding possession football.
However, with 10 minutes to go and against the run of play the physical West Moors launched a free kick high into the box and with a precise header, the visitors levelled.
Nail-biting finish
Brock were not going to let their 100% record for the season go and with two minutes left Callum Brady intercepted a back pass and bravely slotted into the bottom corner under a challenge from the keeper.
Players from the bench ran onto the pitch to join in the celebrations as Brock sealed an excellent win 2-1 and a winning record to saver.
They finished unbeaten in the league and winning the Division 1 title three times in three seasons.
