Updated local coronavirus deaths map – check your area




THIS updated interactive map, enabling residents to see the number of coronavirus deaths in their area, shows New Milton with the highest total locally.

The map, produced by the Office for National Statistics, lists the New Milton area – including Barton, Bashley and Hordle – with a total of 27, followed by Ashurst and Cadnam with 24, and the Hythe area with 11.

In Bransgore and Burley there have been eight deaths, seven in Brockenhurst and Sway, six in Ringwood and Ibsley, and six in the Lymington, Milford and Boldre area.

In Christchurch, the town centre including Jumpers and Commons has seen eight deaths, Somerford five, Highcliffe and Walkford 4 and Mudeford 3.

The map covers the period from March to May this year.

In the most recent wider update – for deaths which occurred up to 5th June but were registered up to 13th June – New Forest has seen a total of 125 fatalities. Care homes still represented the most frequent location for people dying, amounting to 63.

In the BCP Council area, which covers Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole, the cumulative Covid-19 death toll reached 178. Hospitals accounted for 87 of those and care homes 82.
