Last Friday, police released a CCTV picture of the man wanted over the assault, which took place at Nisa Local in Marlow Drive around 4pm on Thursday 10th September.

The victim, a local man in his 40s, was in the shop when another man came near him. On noticing the man person was not wearing a face covering, the victim asked if he could stay back.

However, the man reportedly then got closer and an argument followed. As the victim left the shop, the man went out at the same time and spat in his face.

Following the appeal, a man in his 30s has come forward and is helping officers with their enquiries, Dorset Police said. No arrests have been made.
