Van driver killed after crashing into central reservation on the A31 between Ringwood and Cadnam




A MOTORIST was killed when he was struck by a 4x4 after being involved in a crash on the A31 in the early hours.

Police responded to a call-out reporting a Vauxhall Astra van had ploughed into the central reservation on the westbound carriageway between Cadnam and Ringwood shortly after 3am on Saturday.

Having got out of the vehicle, the driver was hit by a Range Rover.

A Hampshire force spokesperson said: “Sadly a man in his 20s, from Ringwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“His family have been informed.”

The carriageway was closed for nearly seven hours while the incident was dealt with and officers investigated.

People are being urged to come forward if they saw the crash, the moments leading up to it or the aftermath.

Police also want to hear from those who may have captured useful dash cam footage.
