Appeal for witnesses after New Forest vehicle crimes in Burley, Bramshaw, Lyndhurst and the A31

A host of vehicles have been stolen in villages across the New Forest, and police believe the crimes are connected.

Officers have made an appeal for witnesses after the thefts, most of which happened on Sunday.

At around 10pm, two men were disturbed while trying to steal farm equipment from a site on Turf Croft in Burley. The suspects made off toward a nearby red 4x4 vehicle, possibly a Toyota, and were driven away by a third person.

Between 10pm and 10.45pm, two blue Yamaha motorbikes were stolen from an outbuilding at Fountain Court, Bramshaw, where two suspects were seen heading towards the main road.

Around a similar time time, a grey Volkswagen Golf was stolen from the driveway of Cuffnells, Gritnam Road, in Bank, Lyndhurst.

Police also received a report a blue Mazda was stolen from a layby on the A31 between 3rd and 6th February.

Police Sergeant Rob Ford said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in those areas at the relevant times – even if you think it’s something small, it could prove to be an invaluable piece of information.

“Perhaps you were driving in these areas and have dash cam footage of the red 4x4, a blue Mazda, or a grey Volkswagen.

“Our team are working hard to identify those responsible for rural crimes in our area."

Those with information should call 101 with reference 44230050441.
