VIDEO: The Huntsman general manager captures aftermath of crash in which Domino’s pizza lorry ploughs through home’s fence on Lyndhurst Road in Brockenhurst

A pizza lorry has ploughed through a Brockenhurst home’s fence after being involved in a crash with a car on a busy route through the village on Monday.

Police closed off a stretch of Lyndhurst Road following the incident shortly after 6am involving the vehicle belonging to the Domino’s takeaway chain, and a Mercedes.

One person suffered a minor injury, according to the Hampshire force.

Boyd Collins, general manager of nearby The Huntsman, took videos of the aftermath while walking his dog.

He told the A&T: “No one was injured, so all is good, other than for the people at the property and for door-to-door pizza delivery, I guess.”

According to Mr Collins, apart from the fencing and some shrubbery, the home wasn’t damaged.

The road closure has since been lifted, after the lorry and car were moved clear.

Locals have reacted to the videos shared to social media by Mr Collins.

One commented: “That yew hedge should be fully reinstated as it is the sole remaining physical evidence of Watersgreen House.

“The cab of the truck has just missed the arch in the hedge where the gateway was.”

A police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 6.08am this morning after a collision involving a lorry and a car.

“The lorry had also collided with a garden fence and into the garden of an address on Lyndhurst Road. One person suffered a minor injury.”

A spokesperson for Domino’s told the A&T: “At Domino’s we take driver training and road safety extremely seriously and are concerned to hear about this incident.

“Given this is a live police investigation, we are unable to provide further comment, but we are looking into this incident and are supporting the police with their enquiries.”
