Walk through usually closed areas of Beaulieu Estate raises more than £2,000

A CHARITY walk through normally closed areas of the Beaulieu Estate raised over £2,000 for local good causes.

The countryside trek, which was supported by Lord Montagu and the Countryside Education Trust, provided fundraisers with a rare opportunity to see land that is usually off limits to the public.

This year many walkers donated their sponsorship money to the Rotary Ukraine appeal.

Others chose their own charities, including a family who raised £220 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in memory of a close friend.

The popular annual walk is organised by Hythe and Waterside Rotary Club with four routes ranging from 1.5k to 8km.

There was also a fun bug hunt activity with refreshments provided by Hythe and District Inner Wheel.

To register interest for next year’s walk, for which the date is yet to be confirmed, call 023 8181 8187 or email walk@hwrotary.org
