Drugs, cash and weapons haul in five police raids on Foxcroft Drive and Crawte Avenue in Holbury

DRUGS, cash and offensive weapons were seized when police carried out five simultaneous raids in Holbury on Tuesday.

No arrests have yet been made as a result of the warrants carried out at around 2.30pm in crackdown on drug-related harm in the New Forest.

Acting on a public tip-off, officers swooped on addresses on Foxcroft Drive and Crawte Avenue.

These included personnel from the newly-launched Neighbourhood Enforcement Team, designated to help tackle crime hotspots and priority offenders.

They supported the priority crime team and local neighbourhood policing officers.

Searches of these two properties resulted in suspected class A and B substances found and seized, along with cash, drug-related gear and a number of weapons.

Mobile devices, including phones and a laptop, were also seized.

As part of the warrants, a caravan and two vehicles linked to the addresses were also searched, and class B drugs, a weapon and cash seized.

Despite the current lack of arrests, Hampshire police maintained enquiries remained ongoing as part of a wider investigation.

Sgt Andy Gwyer said: “Officers have seized drugs, drug-related paraphernalia and offensive weapons during our searches – so while we have not yet arrested anyone in relation to these offences, what it does mean is that we have severely disrupted their activity with the hope that this will play a significant role in reducing drug-related harm in the local community.

“We rely on information being reported into us by the local community, as this helps us to build up a rich picture of what is happening in the local area and allows us to take swift and robust action and disrupt this type of activity.

“It really does make the different to where we deploy our resources and allows us to take action like we did yesterday.”

Concerns about drug-related activity should be reported to officers online at hampshire.police.uk or by calling 101.
