New Year's Eve weather – Met Office yellow warning for heavy rain across New Forest and Christchurch




IT LOOKS to be a miserable New Year's Eve across the New Forest and Christchurch, with a heavy-rain warning issued by the Met Office.

The national weather agency has issued a yellow alert for tomorrow (Saturday) and warns of flooding for businesses and on roads, as well as delays to bus and train services.

A spokesperson for the Met Office added: "Outbreaks of rain are expected across the area during Saturday morning and afternoon before dying out from the south-west after dark.

"Some heavy bursts are expected at times, bringing as much as 10mm in an hour, and with the ground already saturated this is likely to result in some surface water flooding and travel disruption."

The warning is in place from midnight to 9pm.
