Hampshire County Council confirms A35 Redbridge causeway to partially close until mid-September for work
A MAJOR route into the Forest will be partially closed in August and September for resurfacing.
The Redbridge causeway, which carries A35 traffic from Southampton to the Waterside, will be partially closed over at least two weekends, with overnight closures on the following weekdays.
The first closure to westbound traffic will run from 8pm on Saturday 10th until 6am on Monday 12th August.
The second weekend closure is set for the same times from Saturday 17th until Monday 19th August.
Weekday overnight closures, between 8pm and 6am the following day, will run from Tuesday 27th to Friday 30th August; from Monday 2nd to Friday 6th September; and from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th September.
If poor weather affects the earlier scheduled work, two further weekend closures may happen from Saturday 31st August until Monday 2nd September; and from Saturday 7th to Monday 9th September.
During all of the temporary closures, the westbound A35 will be completely closed between the Rushington and Redbridge roundabouts.
Westbound traffic will need to follow signed diversions for both motorway and non-motorway users.
The southern footway of the westbound A35 will also close during the work.
Signed diversions will be in place for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users such as those using mobility scooters during the closures.
