Weekend snow warning for New Forest and Christchurch

THE New Forest and Christchurch could be in for some snow this weekend.
The Met Office has issued yellow snow and ice warnings for both Saturday and Sunday, including Hampshire and Dorset, along with a large swathe of the UK.
It said an area of rain would likely turn to flurries as it crossed from west to east, leading to icy surfaces.
Most would be in for 1-3cm of snow, with 5-10cm for ground over 100m, and 10-15cm in higher areas.
The agency added that roads and transport would be hit by delays and longer journeys, and some routes may be blocked as a result.
Met Office chief meteorologist Paul Gundersen said: “Colder air is now established across the UK as Storm Christoph moves away into the North Sea.”
