David Skillicorn, former MD of Palmair and now commercial director of Ringwood-based Prestige which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary, says the high street company enjoys a good rapport with those living in the New Forest area, offering a personal face-to-face service rather than online bookings.

All Prestige holidays are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and fully financially protected via the CAA’s ATOL scheme (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence). The company is also a full member of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA).

David explained: “We have for some years sought to find a partnership to promote our holidays, and as a local company based in Ringwood what could be better than the most-read paper serving the Forest area – we very much look forward to working with the A&T team and its readers.

“The New Forest and surrounding area is a fantastic place to live but however lovely it is in spring, summer and autumn, you can’t get away from the fact it’s chilly here in winter – right now it’s 8C in Lymington and 26 degrees in Tenerife."

He added: “Our packages are being tailored to the preferences of the Forest’s ‘silver surfers’ and we appreciate that they do not like paying single supplements.

"We’ll be aiming to offer readers unique, relevant and interesting holiday ideas throughout the year, and some with local flight departures.”

Prize cruise

The Croatia cruise prize includes overseas transfers, welcome drink, breakfast, four buffet lunches and three evening meals on board, complimentary afternoon snack plus fresh fruit and tea/coffee throughout the day and a farewell dinner in a traditional restaurant ashore.

A highlight of coastal cruising is no overnight sailing, with ample opportunity to explore the port of call independently and to dine in a local restaurant or konoba (tavern). Swim stops are made in picturesque bays.

Croatia’s Adriatic Sea mainland coast is more than 1,100 miles long with more than 1,200 islands and islets.

The prize cruise on the MV Markan starts from Split, one of the best-loved resorts in Croatia with a wide pedestrianised waterfront and stylish ambience offering the true essence of the Mediterranean.
