INTERNATIONAL recording artists Foster and Allen will return to Christchurch’s Regent Centre later this month as part of their Timeless Memories Tour of the UK.

The Irish musical pair are celebrating 45 years of performing together by hitting the road to play a collection of their biggest hits. The tour also marks the release of a special-edition recording entitled Timeless Memories featuring 182 tracks from 10 of their most popular albums.

Mick Foster and Tony Allen formed their famous partnership in 1975, and three years later they had cut their first number one single, A Bunch of Thyme, which remained in the Irish charts for 53 weeks.

However, it was not until 1982 that the song was released in the UK but it rapidly entered the top 20 and the pair had to fly over from a US tour to appear on Top of the Pops.

They haven’t looked back and enjoyed further chart success, including five number one hits in Australia and New Zealand, becoming well-known for their timeless and easy-listening sound.

Foster and Allen will be in Christchurch on Sunday 22nd March at 7.30pm. Tickets are £24 each but we’ve teamed up with the Regent Centre to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair by entering this week’s leisure competition.

For a chance to win, pick up the 6th March edition of the A&T in the shops now for just 70p.

The closing date for entries is Friday 13th March. See newspaper for full terms and conditions.
