PHYSICAL theatre, comedy and dance will combine as the smash-hit show Some Like It Hip Hop arrives at Southampton Mayflower next month.

The show, created by Zoo Nation, first opened at The Peacock Theatre in London in 2011 prompting an Olivier Award nomination, five-star reviews and standing ovations.

Described as a story of love, mistaken identity and revolution, Some Like it Hip Hop is set in a city where books are banned and women are kept subservient to men.

The story revolves around two women, Jo-Jo and Kerri, who are thrown out of the city when they are found to be breaking the rules.

The pair decide they have only one option – to return to the city dressed as men. It doesn’t take long for the two women to prove their worth, and it also doesn’t take long for Jo-Jo to fall in love with Simeon, the only educated man in the city.

If only she wasn’t wearing a moustache.

It will visit Southampton Mayflower Theatre on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th October. Tickets are £19.50 to £34.50.

But we’ve teamed up with the Mayflower to give away five family tickets (two adults and two children) to the opening-night performance.

To be in with a chance of winning, pick up a copy of this week's A&T - just 70p in the shops now.

The closing date for this competition is Friday 4th October.
