THE smash hit rock ’n’ roll musical Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story will visit Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre next month as part of its 30th anniversary tour.

Starring a group of multi-talented actor-instrumentalists including former New Forest Players member Josh Haberfield in the role of the Cricketers drummer Jerry Allison, the production will showcase more than 20 iconic hits such as That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy and Rave On.

It will be at Southampton Mayflower from 8th to 11th January.

Through its phenomenal run of productions and performances across five continents, Buddy is one of the world’s most successful rock ’n’ roll musicals – gaining new musical followers over three decades.

It tells the story of the musical icon’s meteoric rise to fame through to his final legendary performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his tragic and untimely death at the age of 22.

In just 18 months the bespectacled young man from Lubbock, Texas, revolutionised the face of popular music, influencing everyone from Bob Dylan and The Beatles to Elton John and Bruce Springsteen.

During the show audiences will be taken on a journey through Buddy’s short-yet-spectacular career in an evening of family entertainment.

Tickets are on sale now for £19.50 to £36.50 but we’ve teamed up with the Mayflower to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets by answering the question in this week's leisure competition.

For a chance to win this prize pick up a copy of the 13th December A&T - in the shops now for 70p.

The closing date for entries is Friday 20th December.
