A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with a knife attack which took place in a New Milton street.

As reported in the A&T, police cordoned off a section of Gore Road outside a home after a 56-year-old local man suffered stab wounds to his arm and body.

He was assaulted there at around 5.20am on Friday morning, said police.

Later that day, officers arrested a 25-year-old local woman on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

The A&T has asked Hampshire Police to confirm whether anyone has been charged.

A force spokesperson said: “An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.”

South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) alerted officers when it dispatched a team of paramedics in response to a call-out to the incident.

After being assessed and treated at the scene, the alleged victim was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.

His condition was described by a SCAS spokesperson as serious, but not life-threatening.

Anyone with information should contact Hampshire police on 101, quoting crime reference number 44190354050, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
