Woman arrested by police investigating New Milton stabbing
A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with a knife attack which took place in a New Milton street.
As reported in the A&T, police cordoned off a section of Gore Road outside a home after a 56-year-old local man suffered stab wounds to his arm and body.
He was assaulted there at around 5.20am on Friday morning, said police.
Later that day, officers arrested a 25-year-old local woman on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
The A&T has asked Hampshire Police to confirm whether anyone has been charged.
A force spokesperson said: “An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.”
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) alerted officers when it dispatched a team of paramedics in response to a call-out to the incident.
After being assessed and treated at the scene, the alleged victim was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
His condition was described by a SCAS spokesperson as serious, but not life-threatening.
