POLICE have launched an investigation after a worker was badly hurt in an accident at an industrial estate in Hythe.

The casualty, a 49-year-old man from Waterlooville, had been unloading metal beams from a lorry when the incident took place at Hythe Marine Park in Shore Road, shortly before 2.30pm on Tuesday.

“A 49-year-old man from Waterlooville suffered a serious, but not life-threatening, injury after an accident whilst unloading metal beams from a lorry.

“Officers have attended and gathered initial evidence. The injured man was taken to Southampton General Hospital to be treated for his injuries.”

The A&T has contacted the Health and Safety Executive for a statement about the accident, but a response has not yet been received.
