STRONG winds are set to hit the New Forest and Christchurch tomorrow (Friday), with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning.

The national weather service has said the winds, which are expected to hit between 4am and 6pm are expected to result in “some travel disruption”

Delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely, it said, with bus and train services affected, and some journeys taking longer.

There may also be power losses, and coastal communities should prepare for increased spray and large waves on seafronts.

Tree damage is also possible with debris on roads, the Met Office added.
