Met Office issues yellow warning for thunderstorms in New Forest and Christchurch




A YELLOW warning for thunderstorms has been issued for tomorrow morning (Friday), covering the New Forest and Christchurch.

The Met Office alert for between 6am and midday states there is a “good chance” of delayed road journeys as a result of spray and standing water. Train services may also be disrupted.

Residents are advised there is a chance some homes and businesses could be flooded, with the potential for damage to buildings and structures.

The alert added there was also “a chance of some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes, as well as short term loss of power”.
