Gangs harassing Holbury residents by kicking doors and posting food through letterboxes
GANGS of youths have been harassing Holbury residents by kicking their doors and posting food through their letterboxes.
Local police have been carrying out heightened patrols of areas plagued by the disturbances, with properties in Hayes Mead, Lime Kiln Lane and Sycamore Drive particularly targeted.
CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could help identify the offenders is also being sought.
Sharing details on Facebook, officers also called for other victims who have not yet come forward to get in touch.
They should include details of the dates and times of incidents.
“Whilst this may seem like low-level ASB [anti-social behaviour] to some, it can have a serious impact on residents, especially the elderly, making them feel unsafe in their own home,” the post said.
“This sort of behaviour would constitute harassment which is a criminal offence.
“Patrols will continue in the area until the problem stops.”
