Letter: Collisions happening regularly at New Forest crossroads

On Tuesday 30th January and Saturday 3rd February there was two collisions where the driver from either Norley Wood road or the Bull Hill road drove onto the B3054 colliding into a car, with the right of way, approaching the crossroads. Fortunately there were no fatalities to these accidents, but injuries were sustained.

The main cause for these collisions is the drivers from the side roads do not stop as the road sign stipulates, and additionally speed. When I have stopped at the junction I have been tooted at and told to “f*** off”.

Ipley Crossroads, C63 Marchwood to Beaulieu road, was a known blackspot with two cyclist fatalities in 20 years. In 2021 a new section of the C97 replaced part of the previous route, creating a T-junction 50 metres south of the crossroads. The original section of the C97 was returned to Forest land to keep in with the surrounding area and for the animals to graze.

Why can’t the Norley Wood/Bull Hill crossroads be changed like the Marlpit Oak and Ipley junction?
