Letter: Lymington littered with rubbish – we deserve wheelie bins

SIR – Whilst the prospect of unsightly wheelie bins along our streets is not attractive, it is far better than facing increasing amount of litter from damaged bin bags that face me on my morning walk with my grandsons to school.

It is disappointing that many residents do not use their common sense and place their black bags in small dustbins, as used to be done in the 1950/60s. This would protect the rubbish from scavenging wildlife.

It would be even nicer if individuals picked up their scattered rubbish rather than allowing the wind to blow it all over the road and pavement.

This problem is not restricted to the odd street; it appears to be prevalent all over Lymington.

Come on, Lymingtonians – take some pride in your town and set a better example to the young generation.

You get what you deserve in life, and it will be wheelie bins.

Lymington
