Letter: More electric vehicle points but still rubbish recycling rates

SIR – I read the article on page 4 entitled 'Council charges ahead with £25m EV contract' (A&T, 26th November).
I have to say this really upset me. The councils are doing nothing about improving our recycling facilities, and yet are prepared to spend all this money on charging points for electric vehicles.
Whilst I appreciate this will be a very positive move to lower our emissions, I do feel that it’s high time they addressed the recycling problem first.
I moved here from Berkshire seven years ago. Recycling wasn’t great there. However, it has vastly improved in this time.
Come on, councils. Let’s get this moving.
