Letter: Neglected Highcliffe is a lost world to BCP Council
SIR – The neglect in the Highcliffe area has to be seen to be believed.
If one drives into Wharncliffe Road, commonly known as the Highcliffe bypass, no white lines exist and nearly all the kerbstones are a mere few inches high.
If one is to go to Mill Lane and turn left as it meets the A337, the first road sign left is back to front.
If one drives to near the Highcliffe Castle golf course, the public footpath is non-existent. The general public have to cross over a main road to get by it.
As far as BCP Council is concerned, we are part of a lost world, off the edge of any map they have of the Bournemouth area.
Also, there is a glaring chance to improve the Sea Corner junction once and for all but it is overlooked by this monolithic council.
Is it out of touch with locals?
