Letter: Share housing with the young? No thank you very much

SIR – So the correspondent suggested that to ease housing shortages for young people, to allow flats etc for the elderly to be shared with young people (Letters, 16th December).

I for one, who cannot wait for my grandchildren to go back home, think the suggestion ridiculous.

Children: sometimes loud
Children: sometimes loud

Imagine having a nap in the afternoon to be awoken by screaming children, balls landing on one's property, fighting, and parents shouting.

Maybe the lady in question should move to a property on a housing estate and leave this oldie (when the time is right) to a quiet life in an over-60s residence.
