Letter: Shot down by my ID at polling station

I have just been to vote. On my way I stopped off to buy some cartridges.

To buy those cartridges I had to produce my shotgun certificate. The certificate has a photograph of me and my full address.

I presented the certificate at the polling station. I was not allowed to vote.

The certificate, issued by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, does not prove who I am and so is not acceptable.

What a crazy world we now live in.
