Letter: ‘Hampshire County Council’s Highways Dept created a pond in the road’

This last week, part of Grebe Close, Milford, enjoyed some attention from HCC highways by way of a resurfacing – a routine maintenance apparently.

However, afterward, we were left with a large depression, filled with rainwater and described by several residents as forming a small 'pond'.

No-one seemed to have inspected the 'finished’ works, or when contacted via our local councillor, interested taking responsibility for this shoddy work.

One remark from a public representative, was: "It’s just a puddle."

We wouldn't tolerate poor work like this in our own homes, so why should we tolerate poor quality public works when our council taxes are used to pay for it?
