PARTS of the New Forest could see snow over the next couple of days, the Met Office has said.

A yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued by the weather agency for tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, covering large sections of the UK including the northern New Forest.

Showers were set to merge with an area of rain, sleet and snow from 6pm Wednesday to 2pm Thursday.

Some travel disruption was anticipated, with road, bus and train journeys likely to take longer than usual, the Met Office warned.

About 1-3cm of snow was expected, with 5-10cm confined only to higher ground.
