Barton golfer Fin Kane clinches back-to-back PGA Winter Series wins with victory at Sand Martins Golf Club

PROFESSIONAL golfer Fin Kane has put himself in the order of merit driving seat after securing back-to-back PGA Winter Series victories.

The former Priestlands student now leads the overall standings with one round left after winning the fourth round at Sand Martins Golf Club.

If the Barton golfer can put in another impressive showing in the final event, it will be a massive step in the 21-year-old’s budding career.

Kane made it around the 70-par course, shooting two-under to secure overall victory, tied with Paultons Golf Centre’s Lewis Scott on 38 points.

Kane’s fourth professional victory, which came against 49 other players, saw him finish in or under par 12 times while hitting four birdies and just two bogeys over the 18-hole Sand Martins course.

Kane, who has been a pro golfer since 2020, said: “I started well as I birdied the second and third holes, but then I made a couple of sloppy mistakes leading to two bogeys in three holes.

“However, I steadied the ship by making a birdie on the ninth. I then proceeded to make eight pars in a row and then birdied the last to win.”

Tilgate Forest Golf Centre’s Sean Dawson and Royal Blackheath Golf Club’s Freddie Price tied for third place, two points behind on 36 points.

Kane added: “To get back-to-back wins is a great achievement, and I hope to follow this up with a good performance at the last event at Farnham Golf Club on 6th April.”
