NEW Milton Rugby Club is rounding off its season with an Over-35s versus Under-35s match to raise funds for club stalwart David Gill.

Gill, a former chairman, has cancer along with untreatable Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), and the club wants to raise some money for him and his family.

The ‘Daddy Gill Cup Game’ will kick off at 2.30pm on Saturday – the day will include BBQ ribs, a bar and refreshments, raffle, auction and live music from 5pm.

Organiser Matt Wale said: “David has done so much for the club over the years, and we wanted to give him something back.

“We have an inter-club game planned so the veterans can see how they get on against the youngsters, and there is a great deal else going on, and everyone is invited to help make the day a great success.

“We have a Chris Stapleton tribute act in the clubhouse from 5pm, and the ribs will be superb.”

The club, which has two senior sides, a veterans team, plus women’s and girls rugby, and age-group rugby from toddlers to colts, will soon reveal its new first team coach.
