SWAY completed an SPL double over relegated threatened Trojans, with a 70-run win at Stoneham Lane.

Skipper Tim Noble (39) and Will Crossley, with a nine-boundary 78, put on 79 for the first wicket as they built to a total of 243 all out.

Dave Steadman was again in good form at number four, with 61 from 50 balls. However, after his dismissal on 225 by Asmir Rasheed (3-36) wickets fell regularly thanks to a some indifferent application and a tidy Trojans seam attack featuring Syed Mahmood (4-40) and Nisan Ahmed (3-40).

The Trojans looked increasingly capable of reaching the target, even after Steadman captured the early wickets of openers Raul Bhone and Ed Boyd.

Syed Mahmood, with a fine half century, had effective support from Nigel Le Bas (31) and Aashish Singh Dasmahapatra (20), taking the total to 156 when stand-in keeper Tom Burton took the second of his three catches.

The return of Steadman (4-45) was a turning point as Le Bas was caught by Crossley.

The Trojans fell away to 173 all out as Hugh Bernard (3-44), Jon Grasham (1-21) and off-spinner Steve How (2-43) polished off the tail.
