AFC TOTTON’S imposing start to the season continued with a ruthless four-goal win over local rivals Lymington Town, who will rue their missed opportunities, on Tuesday.
Totton now sit on top of the table as the only side with a perfect record, while Lymington continues to find their feet in a new division with a healthy four points from as many games.
Lymington started the game brightly, and they came within a whisker of breaking the deadlock when Dom Thelen struck the crossbar.
However, Totton broke through first when Hisham Kasimu played in Ethan Taylor with a beautifully threaded ball that the number 10 slotted past Ross Casey when one-on-one.
Four minutes later, the Stags doubled their advantage from the penalty spot when Jack Hoey scored his third goal in four league games after Kasimu was clipped in the area by Tim Stephenson.
Five minutes after the break, Totton increased their lead after superb link-up play between Kasimu and player of the match Taylor, with the latter rifling his second of the game beyond a diving Casey.
Lymington continued to look for a way back into the game. However, their hopes were ended after 75 minutes when Sam Griffin’s shot took a wicked deflection off Stephenson.
