Hurst Castle Sailing Club member Ian Day awarded Royal Yachting Association long service award at the recent RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show by Hannah Diamond and Sir Michael Arthur




HURST Castle Sailing Club member Ian Day was presented with a Royal Yachting Association long service award at the recent RYA Dinghy and Watersports Show at Farnborough International.

Day received his award from professional sailor Hannah Diamond and RYA board chairman Sir Michael Arthur.

As well as two periods as commodore from 1984-90 and from 2011-2015, during his many years of service, Day has played the leading role in the club’s adult and junior sailing training programmes, co-ordinated dinghy racing and made a significant contribution to a range of developments at the club.
