In horrid conditions, Lymington Town left empty-handed after a last-gasp winner handed Blackfield & Langley all three points at the Gang Warily Recreation Ground.
Lymington, who finished the match with 10 players after a contentious red card, took an early lead, but an equaliser just before the break and a late winner left the south coast side on eight points after 28 games.
Lymington Town made a blistering start, and after a slick one-two, a poor shot let Blackfield off the hook.
However, with five minutes played, Lymington captain Toby Colmer escaped his marker before rising highest to meet a well-taken corner, nodding the ball past a helpless Ollie Harrison.
The one-way traffic continued, and lively winger Rich Bakary had a great chance to double the lead, but he failed to connect properly, and the effort came to nothing.
The Watersiders took 22 minutes to muster their first effort, with Harry Mealing narrowly hitting an effort wide after excellent work out wide from Callum Stratton.
Stratton, who used to play for Lymington, continued to grow into the game, and minutes before the break, he stabbed home from close range after a goal-mouth scramble to level the match.
Not helped by a wet pitch and driving rain, the second half took a while to get going, with Lymington almost retaking the lead after 65 minutes when Colmer broke clear, but Zak Pickett did well to track back and block.
With a quarter of an hour left to play, Lymington captain Colmer, his side’s liveliest player on the day, received two yellows, which many felt were both unfair.
The Watersiders took over at that stage, with burly striker Joe Roberts causing the visitors plenty of trouble. With four minutes left, the striker had an excellent opportunity to take the lead, but his shot went straight into the grateful grasp of keeper Chris Raven.
However, with seconds left, a tame ball from the right evaded two Lymington defenders, allowing the Roberts to charge onto the ball and fire home a winner.
Blackfield & Langley hosts Laverstock & Ford on Tuesday at 7.45pm before travelling to face Hamble Club on Saturday at 3pm, while Lymington Town is away against Sherborne Town on Saturday at 3pm.
