The Walhampton School family came together to cheer on David Hill – who has worked at the school for over half a century – as he completed his 250th parkrun at the Lymington Woodside course.

Hill has been a staff member at Walhampton School since 1967 in various roles covering teaching and estate management. He was a specialist maths teacher for almost 40 years and has taught many fellow parkrunners.

He started at the Lymington parkrun at the end of 2016 and was a reasonably regular runner. However, since 2022, he has consistently hit over 40 park runs per annum.

Hill completed his 250th event, cheered on by Walhampton School staff, boarders and former pupils.

A Walhampton spokesperson said: “David makes a huge contribution to the life and rhythm at Walhampton, and we are incredibly proud that his passion extends to the wider community.”

It was, therefore, no surprise that, after learning he would hit the milestone, he was joined by Walhampton staff and pupils for the run.

Next on the achievement list will be watching his wife, Lisa, hit the 200 parkrun milestone in the next couple of months.
