Lymington Town FC women’s team given first new kit thanks to sponsor Colten Care
LYMINGTON Town FC women’s squad will play in a brand new kit for the first time next season.
The team, currently in league six of the Hampshire County Women’s Football League, have previously made do with hand-me-downs from the men’s team.
The new kit, emblazoned with the logo of family-run care home company Colten Care, was presented to the squad by Lorraine Bell, home manager of Colten’s Lymington-based, dedicated dementia home Linden House, along with residents.
Lymington Town FC women’s manager Becky Wildman said: “As a team, we are very grateful for Colten Care sponsoring our brand new kit, which we absolutely love.
“We are the first ladies’ football team in Lymington, and we are very proud. Some of our players work for Colten Care, including myself, which makes it very special.
“We look forward to seeing some of our residents and colleagues at our home games.”
The presentation coincided with the team’s fixture against Clanfield Women which, despite being a hard-fought match, was won by Clanfield 5-2.
Colten Care chief operating officer Elaine Farrer said: “Lymington Town plays an important part in its community, and we feel proud and privileged to provide the team with these smart kits bearing our name.
“We hope the new kits will bring them luck in the league.
“Our residents and we will follow their progress keenly in the coming season and look forward to cheering them on again in person very soon.”
Resident Elaine Williams added: “The girls look lovely in their new football kit.”
