A pair with a combined age of 192 – Marjorie Blackburn, 102, and her partner Margaret Box, 90, posted a record score at Milford T&S Bridge Club at Milford Tennis and Squash Club




A senior pair with a combined age of 192 recently posted a record score at an afternoon of duplicate bridge at Milford T&S Bridge Club.

The score of 74% was significantly higher than the previous record of 69% and was posted by Marjorie Blackburn, aged 102, and her partner Margaret Box, aged 90.

They have played duplicate bridge together for many years and consistently score well. The club’s previous chair, Choo Donnelly, presented the pair with a cup to recognize this fantastic achievement.

Milford T&S Bridge Club is part of Milford Tennis and Squash Club, with meetings in the clubhouse overlooking the tennis courts.

Duplicate bridge is played on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons – limited to a maximum of 12 tables. On Wednesday mornings, the club holds occasional training sessions for beginners and improvers.
