New Forest Runners’ duo Alastair Pickburn and Gemma Russhard lead Lymington Woodside parkrun
This week, 115 people took on the latest Lymington Woodside parkrun, with the first-placed men and women, Alastair Pickburn and Gemma Russhard, coming from New Forest Runners.
Running in the VM40-44 category, Pickburn finished 10 seconds ahead of the second-placed runner, Rob Moore (19:28), with Lymington Athletes’ Richard Mayo in third (20:58).
Pickburn’s finishing time of 19:18 left him with the highest age grade score.
Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Gemma Russhard crossed the line in a time of 22:06. She led the women home, with clubmate Karen Wardle (24:15) of New Forest Runners taking second and Daniella Short rounding out the podium in 25:21.
Squeezing inside the top 10 was the fastest junior on the day, Mikey Bean. The J11-14 category member finished with a time of 22:56, with Millie Bence (JW11-14) 27:26 time making her the fastest girl.
The latest Lymington Woodside parkrun was made possible by 20 volunteers. They were Prue Baker, Ruth Barrett, Sarah Bunce, Linda Daniel, Eloise Edgar, Simon Grigor, Peter Harwood, John Hilbourne, Bette Keeping, Rafa Layman, Derek Lee, Samuel Middle, Keith Mitchell, Darren Price, Graham Ratcliffe, Nigel Robinson, Beatrix Russell, Liz Sanders, Kevin Warren, and Rosemary Winter.
