New Milton karate talent Carla Rudkin-Guillen earns England spot




BALLARD School’s karate sensation Carla Rudkin-Guillen has won gold at the British Karate Championships, securing a spot to represent England.

Carla, who regularly trains in New Milton and Lymington at Southern England Karate Federation (SEKF), won the gold medal in the Cadet Kata category in Leicester, earning the chance to represent England at the Junior European Championships in Prague in June.

The British title win is the first time the 15-year-old has been in action since grabbing two silvers at the Junior International Open and a silver and a bronze at the USA Open.

The New Forest youngster is trained by her father – SEKF founder, sixth dan black belt and former-England International Collin Rudkin – and her brother, former-England International Danny.

Carla, who has represented England in both forms of karate, kata and kumite, is sponsored by Sandbanks Construction and 1-1 Diet with Laura Legg.
