Familiar faces Callum Olden and Adam Jundi lead the way at latest Brockenhurst parkrun
It was a familiar one-two at the latest Brockenhurst parkrun, with Callum Olden and Adam Jundi leading the other 198 participants home.
Olden and Jundi began their parkrun journeys in 2015, and they were exactly 15 seconds away from their respective Brockenhurst personal bests (PB).
Southampton AC’s Olden led the field home for the 31st time and the second consecutive week at 16:46, while second-placed Jundi registered a time of 17:37.
The first woman for the first time was Carys Gallagher of Westbourne RC, who ran 21:58 on her 44th Brockenhurst run and her 179th in total. Gallagher was well warmed up as she had kindly carried out the pre-event course check beforehand.
The first Junior for a successive week was M11 Travis Vanjara, who ran 19:53 to finish fifth overall. Last Tuesday, he represented New Forest schools in the Hampshire Schools Cross Country Championships and was selected to represent Hampshire in the English Schools Cross Country Championships later this month. The first girel was W15 Ella Hughes, who ran a parkrun PB of 25:05.

Two of the volunteers deserve special mention. One of our much-valued Duke of Edinburgh youngsters, M11 Jack Prince, took on the crucial role of timekeeping for the first time, while run director Mick Anglim of Hardley Runners volunteered at the Brockenhurst event for the 350th time.
For the 517th event, 21 volunteers gave up their free time to make it possible. They were Katy Hughes, Mick Anglim, Paul Pearse, Steve Moss, Katrin Pritchard, Mike Smith, Keith Mitchell, Carys Gallagher, Steve Wilks, Victoria Miller, Charlotte Rajakaruna, Oliver Eveleigh, Jack Prince, Vivienne Baxter, Barbara Walton, Christopher Potter, Stuart Martin, Sharon Herman, Craig Foggo, Travis Vanjara, and Rajwinder Kaur.
